Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup 113 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 ½ cups 300 g powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 –3 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Method
 

  1. Place ½ cup softened butter into mixing bowl.
  2. Beat butter until creamy and pale.
  3. Gradually add 2 ½ cups powdered sugar while mixing.
  4. Pour in 2 tablespoons cream and vanilla extract.
  5. Add pinch salt to balance sweetness.
  6. Beat until smooth and fluffy.
  7. Add extra tablespoon cream if thinner consistency is needed.
  8. Spread or pipe frosting onto completely cooled cookies.
  9. Allow icing to set for 20–30 minutes before stacking.
