  • cup graham cracker crumbs finely crushed
  • tbsp butter melted
Cream Cheese Filling
  • oz cream cheese softened
  • cup granulated sugar
  • tsp vanilla extract
  • large egg room temperature

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking pan for easy removal.
  2. Mix graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until evenly coated. Press firmly into the pan.
  3. Beat cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar, vanilla, and egg. Mix until creamy and silky.
  4. Spread the filling evenly over the crust. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  5. Bake until the center is set and the edges look lightly golden, about 12 minutes.
  6. Cool completely, then chill until firm. Slice into neat bars and serve.

Notes

For softer bars, chill briefly before serving. For firmer slices, refrigerate several hours or freeze for 20 minutes before cutting. Freeze individually wrapped portions for longer storage. Handle chilled bars during assembly for cleaner layers. Customize with citrus zest, chocolate chips, or cookie crumbs. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
