  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar sifted
  • 1/4 cup eggnog full-fat preferred
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract pure vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg freshly grated if possible
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon optional

Method
 

  1. Beat softened butter until fluffy, pale, and smooth.
  2. Add powdered sugar gradually and mix until creamy and fully combined.
  3. Pour in eggnog, vanilla, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  4. Beat until the frosting becomes silky, light, and spreadable.
  5. Adjust texture with a little extra powdered sugar or eggnog if needed.
  6. Spread or pipe onto cooled desserts and garnish with nutmeg.

Notes

For a softer frosting, add extra eggnog a teaspoon at a time. For firmer piping texture, chill before decorating. Freeze frosting in an airtight container for up to 2 months and rewhip after thawing. Keep desserts cool during assembly. Customize flavor with maple extract, rum flavoring, or extra spices. Store refrigerated for up to 5 days.
