Ingredients

Frosting Base
  • 4 cups Powdered Sugar sifted
  • 6 tbsp Milk add gradually
  • 2 tbsp Light Corn Syrup for shine
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract pure
  • 1 pinch Fine Salt balances sweetness
Optional Flavor Variations
  • 1/4 tsp Lemon Extract optional
  • as needed Food Coloring optional

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Hand Mixer
  • Rubber Spatula
  • Cooling Rack
  • Baking Sheet
  • Freezer
  • Cookie Scoop
  • Tray
  • Oven

Method

  1. Whisk powdered sugar and salt in a mixing bowl until evenly combined.
  2. Add milk, corn syrup, and vanilla. Mix until smooth, glossy, and free of lumps.
  3. Adjust texture with a few drops of milk for thinner icing or extra sugar for a thicker finish.
  4. Spread or pipe frosting over completely cooled cookies, cupcakes, or cakes.
  5. Tap the tray gently to help the surface level and dry with a smooth appearance.
  6. Let decorated treats rest at room temperature until the frosting sets and feels dry to the touch.

Notes

For a softer finish, use slightly more milk. For a firmer, crisper set, increase powdered sugar a little. Freeze decorated treats in a single layer, then wrap well after the frosting hardens. If assembly becomes messy, chill items briefly before stacking. Customize flavor with citrus, almond, or peppermint extracts. Store finished treats in an airtight container at room temperature for several days.
