  • 2 cups whipped topping thawed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Layers
  • 1 9-inch pound cake cubed
  • 4 cups strawberries sliced
  • 0.25 cup strawberry jam warmed

Method
 

  1. Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth and fluffy.
  2. Fold in whipped topping gently until light and creamy.
  3. Toss strawberries with warmed jam for gloss and extra flavor.
  4. Place cake cubes in the bottom of the bowl for the first layer.
  5. Add cream mixture, then strawberries. Repeat layers until ingredients are used.
  6. Finish with berries on top and smooth visible cream edges neatly.
  7. Refrigerate until chilled. Scoop deeply to capture every layer.

Notes

For softer texture, chill longer so cake absorbs moisture. For more contrast, assemble shortly before serving. Freeze 10 minutes for firmer scoops. Use blueberries, peaches, or raspberries for flavor changes. Store covered in refrigerator up to 2 days.
