Ingredients

Method
 

  1. Place 2 cups sifted powdered sugar into mixing bowl.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon meringue powder.
  3. Pour in 2 tablespoons warm water.
  4. Beat on low speed until combined.
  5. Increase speed and beat 3–4 minutes until glossy peaks form.
  6. Add additional water drop by drop for flooding consistency.
  7. Divide icing into bowls for coloring if desired.
  8. Transfer icing into piping bags.
  9. Outline cookies first, then flood centers.
  10. Allow icing to dry completely for 4–6 hours before stacking.
