  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour leveled
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips optional

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Square Baking Pan
  • Parchment Paper
  • Cooling Rack
  • Freezer
  • Spatula
  • Oven

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk melted butter and brown sugar together until smooth and glossy.
  3. Add egg and vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined and silky.
  4. Fold flour and salt gently into the wet mixture until no dry streaks remain.
  5. Stir chocolate chips evenly through the batter for sweet buttery bites.
  6. Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan using a spatula.
  7. Bake for 12 minutes until edges look golden while the center stays slightly soft.
  8. Cool blondies completely before slicing for cleaner bars and chewy texture.

Notes

For chewier blondies, remove them while the center still looks slightly soft. Bake longer for firmer texture. Freeze sliced blondies tightly wrapped for quick desserts later. Chill blondies briefly before cutting cleaner squares. Add pecans, caramel bits, or white chocolate chips for flavor changes. Store blondies covered for up to five days.
